VICTORIAN DOORS

Alongside our handmade to order doors we also offer expertly restored Victorian era pine doors. Steven did an apprenticeship in antique restoration and is very experienced in working with original fixtures and fittings often found in period homes.

Victorian internal doors are generally stripped Pine four panel doors and look fantastic finished in Briwax and furnished with replica or antique rim locks and door knobs. Victorian doors can be glazed if required and can also be used externally in the thicker 40mm+ varieties when painted.

Our fully restored antique Victorian era doors are usually around £300 per door, rarer sizes or doors with specific requirements may cost more.

We can apply a range of finishes from £75 including waxed, stained, painted, varnished and more.

We can supply door furniture on request, please view the door furniture page of our website. We can also source antique door furnishings where required.

Steven provides an installation service from £110 per door and covers the whole of the UK alongside the local area servicing Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and the whole of Yorkshire. If you choose to use your own joiner to install your Victorian doors then we highly recommend you use a joiner who has experience in fitting antique doors as they need more care and can sometimes require running repairs during the installation due to the fragile antique nature of the product.

We offer a local delivery service for West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. We can also ship throughout the UK but we do prefer long distance clients to arrange their own couriers when possible, delivery quotes can be easily obtained by using third party courier sites.

We offer different levels of Victorian doors. Due to the rarity of genuine antiques in a good enough condition to be made ready for further use, standard sizes are rare so we sometimes have to add discreet widening and lengthening strips to the doors to build them up to standard sizes, we may also do this to make a matching set of doors (for example with matching moulding, panel and rail proportions and so on). Some clients would prefer to spend a little more and have doors that have been altered as minimally as possible to preserve more of the antique nature, if this is important to you please make us aware in your enquiry and we will factor your requirements into our quote. For more information and example photos feel free to ask.

We fully restore the doors which includes stripping the old paint down to the bare wood, sanding the doors to remove unsightly marks and as much scratch damage as possible, strengthening the joints. We also make all necessary repairs such as fixing any damage with discreet reclaimed timber patches, filling in old handle and latch holes again with discreet colour matched reclaimed timber and fixing or replacing any broken panels or moulding. If you would like more information regarding the restoration process feel free to ask any questions you may have in your enquiry. We can also provide before and after photos of previous restorations on request to help you visualise the process.

When making your enquiry if you require multiple doors it helps us to source the doors if you can specify where the doors are in your house eg, living room, kitchen and utility doors are in a small hallway together. This will help us source as close to a matching set as is possible where required.

We source our doors from a variety of suppliers and generally keep a stock at all given times. We also have a regular supplier of raw unrestored doors which allows us to be able to supply genuine Victorian era doors to suit any size or specification.
